Yeah, I think that describes my feelings pretty well over the following news reports:
FEMA carries out a press conference with FEMA employees actings as the only reporters since real journalists weren’t given enough time to arrive for the conference.
They say they’re sorry. This makes me feel much much better. You know what FEMA, since this is your first screwup, and one you obviously had no real control over, I’ll let it slide. Don’t tell mom mkay? - Link
The House of Representatives passed HR 1955 titled the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. This paints with a broad brush directives for identifying and labeling US citizens as extremists. The main problem with this is that they the definiton of extremist pretty wide open. This could be your typical Jesus-hating bomb toting bearded lady or it could be the wierd guy outside the supermarket venting about space aliens in office. It could also easily be someone or some group saying things that those in power don’t like. - Tinfoil-hat link. Actual bill (PDF).

And finally linked at Slashdot is this gem: “The US House Judiciary Committee recently emailed all of its potential whistleblowers information about how it was restructuring its whistleblower program. Unfortunately for its sources, it emailed them this information with their addresses in the “To:” field (and not the Bcc: field) It also cc:’d this email to the Vice President. I’d like to think think this is some sort of ingenious subterfuge, but I’m doubtful.” Heck of a job guys. Link to Slashdot discussion.
Sigh. I love what my country is supposed to be. I love what was taught to me in school. Anyone remember the constitution? Anyone remember why this country started in the first place? Read through the first comment on this Reddit article and tell me if you find it interesting.
At least this gave me a good smile today. The Superest! Who’s the greatest superhero of them all?
He’s a model for everyone to aspire to.
