That’s right, this marks my 100th entry since I’ve installed wordpress at mauerpower.net (Note this includes posts before Japan was even a twinkle in my eye. Does not include batteries.)
I want to take this time to thank everyone and anyone who trudges by this site day in and day out to read ramblings about Japan, technology, and whatever street posters are popular in Baltimore. Without you I would be posting these thoughts for sole amusement of the Googlebot, so thanks for saving me from that fate.
A few days ago I passed the two month mark on continuous posting as well, next stop 6 months. I had better start doing interesting things again if I’m going to make it that far without resorting to discussing what I ate for dinner every night. Tonight was steamed dumplings. God Damn it.
Tomorrow? I could say I have big plans but I sure as hell do not. I want to catch up on sleep from this week and hopefully improve my mood. I was almost at the breaking point today and I can’t let that happen too often.
One class of students is so disinterested that there were more people playing their PSP’s in plain sight than were actively engaged in the lesson and there’s nothing I can do about it because ALT’s aren’t expected or encouraged to discipline. My second class was much better behaved as usual but hey, they’re all girls. Finally I had a class which I usually dread because the JTE doesn’t hold me hand and expects me to run the class. What I need to get through my head is that this is frustrating now, but a good thing. If only because the students in this class are the best combination of English ability and manners. I guess it helps that most of them are crippingly shy, but that just means activities that stress individual or small group involvment will be accepted better than the “Hey everyone get up here and make a fool of yourself!” style.
So yes. 100 looking towards 365.
